I'd actually like to try the GEM WK-4 oriental or some of thier newer oriental keys. Also I hear that Ketron is good. I really like the oriental boards...besides the old skilo alanog keys. P

No, but I hear good things about the Roland Oriental boards. Does the GR-5 have all the oriental sounds as well. I create my own beats so I'm not too concerned with that. I do, however, like to have great samples for live use....kanoun, oud, ney, accordions, etc. The WK-2 is pretty good....but it is old technology and the samples are a little rough. My K2000 has some good sounds though, including this killer klarino sound. P

I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks how ornate or not this New Roland is. I liked the WK2 because the beats although only a few, were very Solid. The Tsamiko and a few others sucked, but all in all it was acceptable. I only depend on him to provide beats when it's a 2 man gig. There's a Good Friend of Mine in NY who repairs and Programs all the GEM Keyboards, and also some of the Older Yamaha's. His Name is Spyro Koursaris. I couldn't believe how inexpensive this New Roland GR-5 is.
